About WEDFA

The Washington Economic Development Finance Authority (WEDFA) is an independent agency within the executive branch of state government. WEDFA was created by the legislature to act as a financial conduit to businesses through the issuance of nonrecourse revenue bonds.

WEDFA has the authority to issue these bonds on both a taxable and tax-exempt basis in support of qualifying projects —primarily manufacturing, processing and waste disposal facilities. WEDFA cannot assist retail projects.

WEDFA is governed by a 17-member board, chaired by Josephine Tamayo Murray.

WEDFA's executive director, Rodney Wendt, manages operations.
